Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of BoltForge Voice, an AI phone answering and messaging service operated by Barrows Software ("we", "us"). BoltForge is a product of Barrows Software. By creating an account, starting a trial, or using the service, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and the business you represent ("you" or "Customer").
1. Who can use the service
BoltForge Voice is for business use only. You must be at least 18, authorized to bind your business, and operating in the United States. You must give us accurate business information, including your legal business name, address, and tax ID where requested, because phone carriers require it to register your number for calling and texting.
2. What the service does
BoltForge Voice gives you a phone number and an AI agent that can answer calls, answer questions using information you provide, book appointments, transfer calls, send text messages, and, on eligible plans, place calls to contacts you provide. Features vary by plan as described on our pricing page.
BoltForge Voice is not an emergency service and must not be used as a substitute for 911. If a caller describes a life-threatening emergency, the agent will tell them to hang up and call 911.
3. Free testing, billing, and cancellation
- Free build and test calls. You can build and configure your agent in the dashboard and place up to 10 test calls to it at no charge. Test calls are limited to 5 minutes each and are for your own evaluation only; your agent does not answer real callers until you deploy it. There is no free trial of live service.
- Deploying. Your paid subscription starts when you deploy your agent and complete checkout.
- Subscriptions. Plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, and renew automatically until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
- Minutes and overage. Each plan includes a set number of call minutes per billing period. Unused minutes do not roll over. Minutes beyond your allowance are billed at $0.25 per minute. Overage is capped at $100 per billing period unless you raise or remove the cap; once the cap is reached the agent takes messages instead of handling full calls until the next period or until you raise the cap.
- Taxes. Prices exclude applicable taxes and telecom fees, which we may add to your invoice.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails we will retry and notify you. We may suspend the service if an invoice stays unpaid for 7 days.
- Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from your account or by emailing hello@boltforge.io. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
- Price changes. We will give at least 30 days' notice before changing the price of your plan.
4. Your compliance responsibilities
You control who your agent calls and texts and what it says. You are solely responsible for making sure your use of the service complies with all applicable laws, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Telemarketing Sales Rule, state telemarketing and "mini-TCPA" laws, state and federal call-recording laws, laws on disclosure of AI or automated systems, CAN-SPAM, and industry rules such as the CTIA Messaging Principles. In particular, you agree that:
- You will only place outbound calls or send texts to people who have given the consent the law requires, which for marketing calls or texts using an artificial or AI-generated voice generally means prior express written consent. You will keep records of that consent and give them to us on request.
- You will not upload purchased, rented, shared, or scraped contact lists.
- You will honor opt-out requests promptly and within the time the law requires, and you will not contact numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry or your internal do-not-call list without a valid exemption.
- Outbound calls and texts will only be made between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. in the recipient's local time, or a narrower window where state law requires.
- Every call handled by the service begins with a notice that the call may be recorded, and the agent identifies itself as a virtual assistant. You will not ask us to remove these disclosures.
- You will follow our Acceptable Use Policy.
5. Phone numbers and carrier registration
Phone numbers are provided through our telecom partners and assigned to your account for as long as it is active and in good standing. Before your number can send text messages, carriers require registration of your business and messaging use case (A2P 10DLC). You authorize us to submit that registration on your behalf using the information you provide. Carriers may reject, delay, or filter messages, and may charge registration fees that we pass through at cost. If you would like to move your assigned number to another provider, contact us and we will help where technically feasible while your account is in good standing.
6. AI output
The agent uses AI models to understand callers and generate responses. AI can make mistakes, misunderstand callers, or give incomplete answers. You are responsible for the information and instructions you give the agent, for reviewing how it handles calls, and for configuring escalation for anything important. The agent does not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice, and you must not configure it to do so. We do not guarantee any particular number of bookings, leads, or sales.
7. Your data
You own the information you upload and the recordings, transcripts, and contact records the service creates for you ("Customer Data"). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and transmit Customer Data only to provide, secure, and support the service. We do not sell Customer Data. We use service providers, including our telecom, AI, payments, and hosting providers, to run the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for giving any notices and obtaining any consents needed for us to process your callers' information on your behalf.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account, immediately and without prior notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if a carrier or regulator flags your traffic, if we receive credible complaints about your calls or messages, or if your use threatens the security, integrity, or carrier standing of the service. We will tell you why when we can. On termination, you can request an export of your Customer Data within 30 days, after which we may delete it.
9. Third-party services
The service connects with third-party products such as CRMs and calendars. Your use of those products is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party products or for changes to them that affect an integration.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every call or message will be delivered.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or revenue. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. These limits do not apply to your payment obligations or your indemnification obligations.
12. Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, fines, penalties, carrier fees, and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your calls and messages, your contact lists, the content and instructions you provide, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law, including the TCPA and call-recording laws.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in the app. Continuing to use the service after the change takes effect means you accept the new Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania, and both parties consent to that jurisdiction. Claims must be brought individually, not as part of a class or representative action.
